Mawlamyine, April (14)

The residents of Mawlamyine celebrated Revolution Thingyan on the 13th of April, Thingyan Eve Day, held by the military council without participating in the events.

The main roads of Mawlamyine – Kan Nar road, the lower main road and Baho road were deserted on the eve of Thingyan, with no one engaging in Water Splashing Festivals.

However, the coup council opened the central pavilion on Mawlamyine Kan Nar Road with full security but restricted access to the central pavilion.

A resident of Mawlamyine said he will enjoy Revolution Thingyan in the coming days against the military council without participating in the Thingyan Festival.

Revolutionary forces and students unions in Mon State are also urging people to join the revolution, rather than enjoy the junta’s Thingyan.
