On the morning of April 13, vehicles and a motorcycle were set on fire on the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asian Highway which has been banned from use by KNLA, according to the travelers.
A motorcycle and three vehicles including passenger van and lorry, were torched near the Taw Naw Waterfall on the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asian Highway.
The vehicles and motorbike were set ablaze on the Asian Highway without any fighting, and no group claimed responsibility for the attack.
On the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asian Highway, trucks and passenger vans were set on fire in recent days killing four civilians.
As the military council boosts its military forces through the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asian route, the KNU issued a statement on March 27 asking people not to use the Highway.
