Frequent landmine attacks force regime forces to use waterways: Tanintharyi

In Tanintharyi Region, the military council has been using the waterways as a result of frequent landmine attacks by the resistance forces, Local People’s Defense Forces told Than Lwin Times.

After the military coup in Tanintharyi, military personnel use the roadways to attack PDFs, reinforce , and transport weapons and food transport.

However, since the end of April, the military council has been using the waterways due to landmine attacks by the People’s Defense Forces.



According to a local People’s Defense Force officer, the PDFs had to be cautious of rivers because the regime utilized both land and waterways.

In addition, the military council is currently transporting its troops by water using porter boats.

With more and more surface-to-air missiles being fired at PDF camps, the military council has been conducting aerial reconnaissance in Launglon, Yephyu, Thayet Chaung, Palaw, and the southeasten parts of Dawei.

After the military coup, battles between the military council and the PDFs continued in Tanintharyi Region, with the military personnel suffering several casualties.
