The military council, who invaded Waedi and Gaw In villages in Tanintharyi Region’s Launglon Township, arbitrarily shot and killed two locals, the residents told Than Lwin Times.

On June 16, at around 10 pm, the junta entered the village of Waedi, raided Than Htay’s house, shot her, and set her house on fire.

The junta then raided Daw Nwe Ni’s house in Weadi village, abducted her, shot her, and left her on the street.

Locals rushed Daw Than Htay and Daw Nwe Ni with gunshot wounds to hospital.

On June 17, at around 1 am, the junta entered the village of Gaw In again, shot and killed Amy Phyo at her home, and set her house on fire.

In addition, the military council shot two young men, Ko Zaw Latt and Ko Nay Lin, near Kyae Taung in Gaw In village, and Nay Lin was seriously injured and Ko Zaw Latt died on the spot.

After the military-backed Pyu Saw Htee tipped the junta off the activists who were involved in the anti-regime movement, the junta came to arrest and kill them, the residents said.
