Yebyu, July (30)

The military convoy struck the landmines near Hnan Kyae village on the Dawei-Kalain Aung road in Tanintharyi Region’s Yebyu Township around 7 am on July 29, the local sources told Than Lwin Times.

The local People’s Defense Forces attacked a five-vehicle military convoy driving from Kalain Aung to Dawei.

One military vehicle was hit by landmines, injuring one captain and the other.

After being attacked by landmines, the junta forces indiscriminately fired into the orchards nearby, hurling insults.

Locals are worried that the military council will come to their villages and attack them because of the attack.

Following the military takeover, fighting between the junta army and the PDFs has continued in Tanintharyi Region, rushing hundreds of locals to shelters.
