Kyaikto, August (16)

A vehicle, carrying three policemen, was attacked on Yangon-Mawlamyine Road near Ingabo village cemetery in Mon’s Kyaikto Township at around 9 am on August 15, the locals told Than Lwin Times.

An unidentified armed group opened fire on a car carrying three security personnel who were coming from Mayanchaug to Kyaikto Township.

The attack caused the car to overturn, and all three policemen in the car may have been killed, a local said.

Among the policemen who were attacked were a police sub-lieutenant, police corporal Soe Win, a marshal for the Mayanchaung area, and a policeman, but Than Lwin Times has not been able to confirm it yet.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Military convoys were frequently attacked with landmines near Ingabo village in Kyaikto Towship, with heavy losses on the junta side.
