Kyaikto, August (26)

A gang of young people has extorted money from the businessmen in Kyaikto under the pretext of revolution, the Kyaikto Revolutionary Force (KRF) said.

Therefore, the KRF said that the demands for money in the name of revolution should be stopped immediately, and if not, the perpetrators will be exterminated as military targets.

“We have got some audio files of the extortionists. We would like to warn the perpetrators that if they continue to commit such acts, they will be exterminated,” the KRF official told Than Lwin Times.

In Kyaikto township, they are asking for 100,000 to 2, 000,000 kyats from businessmen under the name of Bo Zarni, threatening to carry out bombings if they don’t pay.

The KRF members call for the public to inform them of such threats.

Some gold businesses in Mawlamyine, Mon State, have been temporarily closed in recent days as a result of threats from gangs disguising as revolutionary troops.
