Two locals from Kyunsu Township in Tanintharyi Region’s Myeik District were arrested by the military council on August 30, the residents told Than Lwin Times.
It is reported that the arrestees were Ko Tin Tun Win from Kyunsu Township and Ko Min Nge from Myeiktaung village tract.
Ko Tin Tun Win was arrested while staying at a guest house in Kankhok Ward in Myeik and later Ko Min Nge was detained according to the tip-off of Ko Tin Tun Win.
A local resident said that two pistols and some ammunition were seized from both of them.
The military council’s propaganda social media pages are reporting that the two arrested are members of the People’s Defense Forces and that they are transporting weapons, but Than Lwin Times has not yet been able to confirm that.
