Yangon, October (21)

An artillery captain, his wife, and a soldier who came to collect palm oil rations were shot and died on the spot in Yangon’s Hlaing Township, residents told Than Lwin Times.

The gunmen got out of a car and fired 11 shots on three of them who were walking near the Thirimyaing bus stop at the corner of Baho and Paungsi roads in Hlaing’s 13th ward around at 10 am on October 20.

The attack killed Captain Myint Swe of the artillery unit from Shan State’s Aungban Township, his wife, and a private.

Captain Myint Swe received a gunshot wound to the head, Ma Yadana suffered two shots to his back and left side, and the other also was shot to the head.

All of them were taken to Mingladon military hospital.

The regime forces cordoned off the incident site and tightened security with inspections.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
