Ye, December (3)

The junta armed forces launched an offensive after they were attacked while hiding near Payarthar bridge between Kanin Kamaw and Aungtharyar villages in Mon State’s Ye Township, the locals told Than Lwin Times.

On December 1, the Taung Nyo People’s Guerrilla Force ambushed more than 10 troops who were hiding near the Payarthar Bridge.

The attack claimed the lives of two junta soldiers, the Taungnyo People’s Guerilla Forces reported.

After the attack, about 50 military forces marched from the west side of Baelamain village to Aungthayar, Kanin Kamaw, and Lainmawchan villages.

Locals are worried that a battle will break out between the two sides due to the military council’s incursion.

At present, the locals are not daring to go into the orchards and are monitoring the situation.

After the military coup, Ye Township in Mon State has been under tight security due to frequent attacks by PDFs on military personnel and regime offices.
