The police force set fire to the houses and tens that sold palm juice after the two policemen who came to buy palm juice were gunned down in Thakyattaw village in Tanintharyi Region’s Launglon.
The two policemen from the Thakyattaw police station were attacked by PDF while buying palm wine at the shop around 8 am on January 6.
Following the event, the police officers from Thakyattaw police station opened fire on nearby homes and torched them.
One house was burned to ash by the arson attack of police forces, and at least three houses were damaged by indiscriminate firing.
After being attacked, two policemen—one of whom died—were taken to the Thakyattaw police station.
After the military coup, the military convoy, police station, and soldiers were frequently targeted, suffering heavy casualties.
