The Ye Guerrilla Force (YGF) claimed to have attacked a Police Captain with a remote-controlled mine around 8 p.m. on January 11 in Aung Thukha ward, Mon State’s Ye Township.

After learning that Police Captain Hlaing Min Thant, chief of criminal police for Ye District, used to return home on a motorcycle, the Ye Guerrilla Force (YGF) waited and attacked him with mine.

Police Captain Hlaing Min Thant, who used to extort money from people by threatening them with weapons, died due to a mine attack, the Ye Guerrilla Force (YGF) said.

A local confirmed to Than Lwin Times that the news is true but that he is unaware of the details.

The YGF said they will continue with better plans for the revolution, urging the people to join and not back down.

In the morning of January 11, the YGF raided and burned down the Hnitkayin police outpost in Lamaing Township, Ye Township, and attacked the other camp in Kyotadar village with mortar shells.

Moreover, the YGF assassinated Police Lieutenant Nyi Nyi Win on January 9.
