Fighting escalates after Thanbyuzayat’s Htin Shuu outpost being attacked

The fighting ramped up as the Ye Guerrilla Force attacked the police outpost in Htin Shuu village in Mon State’ Thanbyuzayat around 6 am on January 18, the locals told Than Lwin Times.

When the Ye Guerrilla Force attacked the police outpost with heavy and light weapons, there was an exchange of fire.

The mortar shell fired by the No. 315 artillery unit of the military exploded after landing on the village.

After the exchange of fire, the fighting continued as the junta column moved from Htin Shuu village towards Sutpalaung village.

It is reported that the police and some local residents were injured during the incident, but Than Lwin Times has not been able to independently confirm it.

Lieutenant Kyan Yit, the in charge of Ye Guerrilla Force, was not immediately reachable for comment.
