Belin-based No.314 junta artillery attacked

Belin, January (29)

The military council’s No. 314 artillery in Ziwon village in Mon State’s Belin Township suffered a drone attack in the evening and night of January 27, according to residents and resistance forces.

The combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) conducted two attacks on the regime’s artillery unit using 60-mm mortar rounds.

The shells exploded in the compound of the military base, but the details of the casualties are still being investigated.

Locals said that two buffaloes from Daung village were injured as the military council fired continuously into the village with heavy weapons after its artillery unit was attacked by the drone.

The KNLA joint forces attacked the 10-vehicle military convoy with landmines on the Yangon-Mawlamyine road in Daukyat village in Belin on the morning of that day.

Following the explosion, the two sides engaged in a firefight, with three military personnel killed and one seriously injured.

Following an exchange of fire, regime forces stormed the Daukyat village, destroying three houses and attacking the other with heavy weapons.
