Administrative office in Belin’s Zoatthote village destroyed by mine attack

Belin, Februayr (3)

The village administration office in Zoatthote Village, Mon State’s Belin Township, was destroyed by a mine at around 10 pm yesterday, February 1, the locals told Than Lwin Times.

The village’s administrative office was detonated by the People’s Defense Force.

The east side of the administration office was destroyed due to the explosion of the mine, but no one was injured.

A member of the PDF said that the attack was carried out as a warning to the staff who were assisting the military council’s process and collecting population data for the upcoming elections.

The PDF said that if the staff do not heed the warning and continue to cooperate with the military council, they will carry out more serious attacks.

After the administrative office was blown up, nearly 40 military council troops arrived and conducted an inspection.

On January 18, the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) attacked Beilin police station and the township administrative office with drones, injuring two police officers.
