The attack on a checkpoint close to the Kaleinaung Bridge in Yebyu’s Kaleinaung Township may have resulted in casualties for the junta forces, the locals told Than Lwin Times.

About 15 troops of junta unit was attacked by local resistance forces around 9 pm on March 16.

After the attack, the two sides traded gunfire for almost 30 minutes; the extent of the casualties on both sides is still under investigation.

After the attack on the morning of March 17, a local resident said that he found blood spots near the trench of the checkpoint while walking across the bridge.

After the attack on the checkpoint, security has been tightened in Kaleinaung Town, and people crossing the bridge are being stopped and checked.

 When a checkpoint at Kaleinaung Bridge was attacked on October 14, four members of the regime force were killed and two others injured.
