10 soldiers killed in armed clashes with local PDFs in Taungoo

Armed clashes occurred between junta troops and Taungoo district’s local people defence forces in Yedashe Township, Bago region.

The Bago PDF released a report on 23 March, saying 10 junta soldiers were killed in the clashes.

On 17 March afternoon, fighting occurred as the junta troops headed to the eastern bank of Sittaung river, and their Light Infantry Unit 19 and Infantry 84 fired motor shelling to Ywathit village for more than one hour.

In the fight, the local guerilla forces shot down the military’s spy drone, and 10 soldiers were killed, while three PDF members got minor injuries, according to the report.
