The National League for Democracy made an objection on 29 March against the order of junta’s Union Election Commission to dissolve political parties.

The statement of party said that the junta regime which has violated the existing laws and they are not a legitimate government to represent the public, and to dissolve or approve political parties.

Although the NLD won a landslide victory in the November 2020 election, the junta have arrested party leaders with baseless charges.

Until now, the military raided NLD’s headquarters and local offices over 12 times, and 1,235 party members were arrested, while 26 members were killed at the junta’s interrogation centers and prisons.

A total of 63 NLD members were deliberately shot dead, and its CEM member U Phyo Zeya Thaw was executive by hanging.
