A man was killed when a car bomb exploded on Hpa-an – Thaton road near Myain Kalay village in Karen State’s Hpa-an Township on the morning of April 22, locals told Than Lwin Times.

At around 11:00 a.m. yesterday, a civilian car driving from Hpa-an to Thaton exploded on the road near Myain Kalay village.

A car bomb explosion resulted in the decapitation of the driver. Than Lwin Times has not been able to independently confirm the identity of that man.

According to local residents, the other two men in the car fled after the car bomb exploded, but the details are not yet known.

 Regime forces inspected the scene of the car bomb explosion, and the dead body was taken to Myaing Kalay Hospital by a rescue team.

According to local residents, this is the first time a person has been killed by a car bomb explosion on the Hpa-an-Thaton road.
