Three locals were killed and five more sustained injuries when the military regime launched an airstrike on the settlement of Htantabin in KNU Brigade 2 of the Taungoo District in the evening of May 2, according to sources.

Three local residents, including two women, were killed and at least five were injured when two junta aircraft from Taungoo Air Force Headquarters opened fire on Bonematee, Kywe Lan, Thayat Dan, and Kyoe Pin Thar villages in the area of KNU Brigade 2 on the east of Zayat Gyi village in Bago Region’s Htandapin Township.

Two people from Kwe Lan village, Bomatee village tract in Htantabin Township, were killed and the other was injured in the junta bombardment, while one person was injured by shelling from the military council’s Thabyay Nyunt camp, according to a resistance force.

In April, the junta troops based in Zayat Gyi routinely shot heavy weapons at the villages, and bombed the village on purpose the day after tomorrow, following a complaint from informants that members of the People’s Defense Forces were living inside the village, the locals said.

Some homes were destroyed by the military council’s bombardment, and residents of Thayat Dan and Kywe Lan villages, including Bomatee village, have been forced to flee to safety, according to sources close to Brigade 2.
