At least 50 Launglon residents detained for interrogation

Following the attack on the police station, military security affairs office, and immigration office in Tanintharyi Region’s Launglon Township, the military council has arrested and interrogated at least 50 locals, sources told Than Lwin Times.

The Dawei Guerilla Force and allied forces attacked three departmental offices, including the Launglon police station, on the afternoon of May 23.

On the same day, the military council arrested Ko Hlaing Nay Oo, Ma Thet Thet Aye and her husband from Ward A , and Ma Swe Zin Htet from Ward B of Launglon Township.

The junta troops detained men, women, and LGBT people who were in bars, motorcycle repair shops, betel quid shops, and ironwork shops in Ward A and Ward B of Launglon on May 24 and 25.

It is reported that the arrestees are being interrogated at the Launglon police station and junta interrogation center, and some have been released.

A deputy head of the immigration office was killed in the attack on three departmental offices, including Launglon police station.
