Myanmar’s junta troops carried out 147 massacres, with more than five deaths in each case, and the total death toll in these incidents has reached 1,592 until April 2023, according to the report of Nyan Lynn Thit Analytica on 27 May.
In the past two years after coup, the military conducted the massacres mostly in Watlet, Yinmabin, Kalay, Hpakant, Kantbalu and Bago.
The massacres were committed in airstrikes, heavy weapon attacks, offensives and burning alive.
Airstrikes and heavy weapon shelling contributed 32 percent of the military’s massacres.
The military used helicopters for airstrikes and deployment of their soldiers, as well as fighter jets in aerial bombardments, causing 508 civilian deaths in at least 27 incidents.
