Launglone, 3 June
The Democracy Movement Strike Committee-Dawei (DDMSC) in Launglone Township of Tanintharyi region held the 78th anniversary commemoration of falling soldier Colonel Ba Htoo during the independence struggle of Myanmar.
The event was organized at Ba Htoo Memorial Park in his native Laythonkhan village on 2 June, with paying salutes to the fighting peacock flag of the unio and fallen heroes in independence struggle, including Colonel Ba Htoo, and late heroes in democratic movements, laying wreath and reading out message sent by revolutionary forces and revolutionary poems.
Colonel Ba Htoo is an ethnic Dawei and he lost his life on 2 June 1945 during independence struggles. Since he joined the Burma Independence Army in 1941, he never met again with his parents, his wife and offspring.
The DDMSC designated 2 June as the commemorative day of Colonel Ba Htoo last year.
