A junta stooge, militiaman, was killed in a gun attack in southern Kyauk Mi Chaung village in Mon State’s Ye Township, locals confirmed to Than Lwin Times.

Militia member U Ye Win Naing was gunned down at his home by Ye Balu, a revolutionary force based in Ye, around 9:00 a.m. on June 20.

U Ye Win Naing died on the spot, and his body was reportedly taken to Ye Township Public Hospital.

Military lobbyists spread propaganda on their Telegram accounts, claiming militia member U Ye Win Naing is a just civilian and that PDF members took his phone and a wallet containing 200,000 kyats.

The leader of the Ye Balu group confirmed on his social media page that his group assassinated militiaman U Ye Win Naing.

Than Lwin Times tried to reach the leader of the Ye Balu group for comments on the assassination of militia member U Ye Win Naing, but has received no response.

The military council has tightened security in Mon State’s Ye Township, where martial law has been imposed, because battalions, camps, and department offices are frequently targeted.
