Heavy weapon shelling from Kyaukdu artillery unit of the military injured seven persons, including one monk, in Hteelin township, Magway region, on 21 June evening.

Locals said that the explosion occurred near a monastery

“The shelling injured IDPs, monks and novices in Ywathaywa village. Causality has not been reported. One person was seriously injured,” said a local to Than Lwin Times.

People’s defence force carried out mine attacks on the joint troops of military and its militia Pyusawhtee members who are conducting offensives in Hteelin township on 21 June, injuring at least five.

Moreover, local resistance forces have warned the public not to use Kyaukdu-Mindat road as the 9-vehicle convoy of the military is being stationed between Anyaywa and Akyiywa in Hteelin Township.

Sagaing, Chin, Kayah, Kayin, Bago, Mandalay and Magway have seen strongest armed struggles against the military after the coup, and the military also committed the highest cases of human rights violation in these areas.

The Assistance Association of Political Prisoners (AAPP) has reported that the military has killed over 300 civilians in Magway region.
