Kawthaung, June (24)
Three people, including militia leader, were killed in the camp raid near Ye Ngan Chaing village in Tanintharyi Region’s Kawthaung Township, the spokesperson for Kawthaugn People’s Defense Force confirmed to Than Lwin Times.
The militia council’s militia camp in Ye Ngan Chaing was suddenly raided by Tanintharyi PDF around 1 a.m. on June 22.
Village militia leader U Sein, members U Sein Than and U Thant Zin were killed, and the camp was burned down.
The resistance forces seized eight guns, including improvised weapons, and more than 70 WY tablets.
Members of the Kawthaung PDF claimed they assassinated the militiamen from Ye Ngan Chaing village because they were allies of the military council.
After the attack on the militia camp, junta soldiers arrived and took the dead bodies of militiamen to Kawthaung military hospital.
On April 16, the militia leader of Seikphu village in Kawthaung Township, and another man were shot dead by Tanintharyi PDF.
