Nyaunglaybin, 6 July
Ten soldiers were killed, and 15 injured as their troops launched offensive into the territory of Karen National Union’s Brigade (3) in Nyaunglaybin district on 2 and 3 July.
Sources close to the situation said that the clashes occurred for more than one hour between the military troops and the joint forces of KNLA/PDF as the former entered Thamin Inngon village of Kyauttaga township and Yedwingone village of Kyaukkyi township on 2 and 3 July.
The KNLA/PDF Kyaukkyi said that the injured soldiers were taken to Kyauttaga Township hospital.
Two locals in Yedwingone village of Mone township were injured in the offensive of military troops with heavy weapon shelling, and over 1,400 from three villages left their homes, according to the report of KNU.
However, the military’s propaganda media outlets reported that during 30 minutes of armed clashes between the military council and KNLA/PDF forces near Yedwingone village of Kyaukkyi township, Bago region, and two resistance forces were killed, and their ammunitions were confiscated.
People have been forced to leave their homes due to the offensives of military council, and they need humanitarian aid.
