Belin, July (9)

Six local residents, including two children, were injured as junta artillery shells hit Shwe Yaung Pha village in Mon State’s Belin Township, reported the KNU on July 8.

At around 11:00 a.m. on July 7, Zeewon-based Artillery 314 fired heavy weapons into Shwe Yaung Pya Village when there was no fighting.

The shell fired by the junta army exploded after landing near the house of Naw Tin Aye in Shwe Yaung Pya village.

The explosion injured two children aged 5 and 6 and four others, including 57-year-old Naw Tin Aye.

The KNU medical unit is providing emergency treatment to the injured.

After the allied KNLA forces bombarded Artillery 314 with a drone in the early morning of July 7, the junta army launched heavy weapons into the village for no reason.

Than Lwin Times is still investigating whether the regime troops were killed in the drone attack by the KNLA joint forces.

According to KNU-Thaton District, residents have frequently been injured or killed in Beilin Township as a result of heavy weapons fire by the military regime since the coup.
