The fighting is raging on between the warring rivals between Kyaikmaraw Township’s Chaung Hna Khwa and Kyainseikgyi’s Khale Takon Daing village tract under the territory of KNU Brigade 6, with junta forces carrying out airstrikes, according to local sources.

Since June 26, the junta column has invaded the villages of Pulain and Nyein Chan Myaing in the Khale Takon Daing village tract of Kyainseikgyi Township, Karen State, through Taung Kalay village, Kyaikmaraw Township, Mon State.

On the morning of July 12, the KNLA joint forces clashed with the invading junta column, and the suffering regime forces resorted to heavy weaponry and airstrikes.

Residents said that a junta artillery unit stationed at Ahbis village in Mon State’s Mudon Township fired into Pulain and Nyein Chan Myaing villages, Khale Takon Daing village of Kyainseikgyi Township, and a helicopter gunship strafed the villages around 10:30 a.m.

According to locals, the junta forces became trapped in the attack and sustained huge losses, forcing them to rely on artillery shelling and air assaults.

According to reports, fighting has been ongoing in Kyaikmaraw Township since the morning of July 12 until 3:00 p.m.

Locals said that the clashes between the two sides have forced the residents of the villages of Chaung Hna Khwa and Khale Takon Daing to flee, and most of them were trapped in the fighting.

The resistance fighters have frequently launched drone attacks on the junta forces stationed at Khale Takon Daing police station and Nyein Chan Myaing village in the KNU Brigade 6 area, and the junta army has fired mortar shells in retaliation.
