Kyainseikgyi, July (15)

Fierce fighting was raging all day between the junta army and KNLA joint forces in Khale Takon Daing village tract, Kyainseikgyi Township of Karen State, on July 14, locals told Than Lwin Times.

The junta column that invaded Khale Takon Daing village in the territory of KNU Brigade 6 has clashed with the combined force of KNLA and resistance forces between Palain and Khale villages since the morning of July 14.

The artillery unit based at Ahbis village in Mudon Township fired artillery shells into Khale Takon Daing village, and the fighting continued all day yesterday.

However, the battle’s current situation is unknown, and some locals are claimed to be trapped in it.

On July 12, the junta army engaged in battle with KNLA joint forces in Palain and Nyein Chan Myaing villages under Khale Takon Daing village tract, conducting airstrikes and artillery shelling.

As a result of the conflict that erupted at the end of June, almost 1,500 residents of Khale Takon Daing village in Kyainseikgyi Township have fled to safety and are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance, said resistance forces.
