After a battle broke out between the revolutionary forces and the junta army that entered Nanza village in Bago Region’s Kyauktaga Township, the junta burned down the homes of the local people, according to the revolutionary forces.

The invasion of a 100-strong force of Peinzalote-based Infantry Battalion 264, Shwe Wah Infantry Battalion 307 at Penwegon, and Phyu-based Light Infantry Battalion 308 into Nanza village on the eastern Penwegon, triggered a clash around 5:00 a.m. on July 20.

A local news source said that the regime forces burned more than 20 houses of local people in the village and confiscated people’s money and phones.

The Kyauktaga-PDF reported on the morning of July 20 that the junta troops were burning down homes and urged the people to cooperate in rooting out the military dictatorship.

A member of the revolutionary force also confirmed that the junta column that entered Nanza village in Kyauktaga township clashed with the allied resistance forces and set fire to the houses in the village.

The junta army has been expanding its forces, arresting civilians and asking for money, burning houses, and shooting indiscriminately with heavy weapons, forcing more than 4,500 local residents from 37 villages to safety in Kyauktada Township.
