The NUG’s Ministry of Defence said that it awarded 4.4 million Kyats to a sergeant who surrendered to Battalion 1 of People’s Defence Force-Myaik District.
On July 26, a sergeant from Infantry Battalion 103 under the Military Council’s Coastal Regional Military Command deserted to Battalion No. 1 of Myeik District along with one MA-3 gun, two boxes of ammunition, and 317 rounds of 5.56 ammo.
According to the NUG, anyone who desires to take the side of the people or be as informants should contact the nearest PDF battalions, columns, and local resistance forces.
In addition, NUG said that those who want to join People’s Embrace can contact the Telegram channel @MyanmarPeople.
The Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government (NUG) will warmly welcome those who stand on the side of the people, according to the statement.
According to NUG’s statements, nearly 15,000 military personnel who are no longer willing to serve under the military council after the military coup have taken side with the people.
