Four civilians were wounded in the military’s heavy weapons attack in Saw township, Magway region, on 5 September evening.
A local said to Than Lwin Times that one of them was seriously injured in the exchanged fire between the local resistance forces and the military council.
“The onset of battle was not known. Although a military officer was reportedly killed in the incident, we cannot confirm it. The situation is being complicated, and battle could be resumed any time,” the source said to Than Lwin Times.
Battalion 3 of Gangaw District reported that a civilian was seriously injured in the armed clash in Saw township, and they are now clearing unexploded heavy weapon shells.
In July, the local resistance groups fought against the military council troops. At least six defence force members were killed, and about 50 junta soldiers were injured and killed, according to the report of NUG.
Armed struggles are intensifying in Htilin, Saw and Gangaw townships where the military is carrying out offensives and firing heavy weapon shells, forcing people to flee.
The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners reported that more than 320 civilians have been killed in Magway region after the military coup in Myanmar.
