Mone, 13 September

A woman was wounded when junta troops fired artillery shells into Michaung Gaung village of Mone Township under the control of KNU Brigade 3, Nyaunglaybin District, according to the Karen National Union (KNU).

On September 10, around 5:30 p.m., 61-year-old Daw Khin San Win was hit by shelling from the Boma Tee military camp based in Mone Township.

Meanwhile, two bombs dropped by junta aircraft exploded after landing in the fields near Htaw Ye De village in KNU’s Mone Township.

The KNU said that although the explosion caused no damage to the buildings or harm to the people, the villagers were living in fear.

According to the Karen Peace Support Network (KPSN), more than 200,000 local residents have fled raids and attacks by the military council in KNU’s Nyaunglaybin District, and the displaced people are in urgent need of humanitarian aid.
