Thaton, 23 September

The military council’s fighter jet bombed over an old headquarters of Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade 1 near Payitkho village between Thaton and Belin Townships in Mon State, KNU-Thaton District officials told Than Lwin Times.

The attack occurred around noon on 22 September.

Some buildings were damaged in the aerial bombardment, said a KNU-Thaton District official.

The military council’s aerial bombardment has caused fear among the local residents of Payitkho, and some residents are said to be sheltering in bomb shelters and buildings.

On 24 August, two junta warplanes bombed the old headquarters of KNU-Thaton District, destroying some buildings.

The 1st Brigade of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), under the control of KNU-Thaton District, is also an allied unit that supported revolutionary forces in fighting against the military regime during the coup.
