Myeik, 7 October
A civilian night watchman was shot and killed by a junta-aligned militia group, Pyu Saw Htee, at No. 1 jetty in Tanintharyi Region’s Myeik Townshp around midnight on October 5, said locals.
The U Tun Tun-led militia group, who were drunk, shot and killed the 40-year-old night watchman U Wa Toke with a gun for no apparent reason when they arrived at the jetty.
Residents said U Wa Toke died at the spot with bullet wounds in the chest and abdomen.
It is said that U Wa Toke has no enemies, and he has a wife and three minor children left behind.
Locals say that the military council forces arrested U Tun Tun Soe and Pyu Saw Hti, who shot and killed U Wa Tok, at around 4:00 a.m. on October 6, but the Salwin Times has not been able to independently confirm the report.
