As members of regime forces were assassinated in Mon State’s Ye, where martial law has been declared, the junta has conducted mock inspections outside the military compound, said locals.
On October 4, a 50-strong junta unit carried out mock inspections of motorcycles and vehicles at the intersections, entrances, and exits of the town.
According to three local residents, the regime forces returned to the compound half an hour after taking photos and video recordings of the inspection of motorcycles and cars on the road.
According to locals, about 100 military personnel returned to their compound on the same day after conducting simulated security patrols in military vehicles on the roads leading to Zee Phyu Thaung and Asin Villages in Ye Township.
Locals said that those forces only conducted inspections on October 4, and there were no inspections on the following days.
In the last week of September in Ye Township, a captain and a police chief were shot dead, and the military-owned Myawaddy Bank was also attacked by revolutionary forces.
After the attacks, military supporters posted content on Telegram criticizing the commander of Southeast Command and responsible officials of Ye Township for not fulfilling their duties, which led regime forces to conduct a mock inspection.
As the military forces decline in the resistance stronghold of Ye Township, there is less military activity outside the military compound, and they live inside the camps.
The regime forces withdrew from Khawza, Lamai, and all local police stations and lived together at the Ye Police Station, and some of the departmental work was done inside the military facilities.
The combined resistance forces launched an attack on Ye-based junta battalion 4 using heavy artillery, small arms as well as small unmanned aerial vehicles.
