The allied resistance forces launched a raid on a Pyu Saw Htee militia camp in Min Gote village of Kyun Su Town in Tanintharyi Region, the sources confirmed to Than Lwin Times.
The camp, where around 20 members of the Pyu Saw Htee militia lived, was attacked by the combined forces of Tanintharyi-PDF, Palaw Shadow Guerrilla Force, and Kyun Su-PDF in the evening of October 24.
The raid resulted in an exchange of fire, and the Pyu Saw Htee group fled the camp, the source said, adding that the details of the situation were unknown.
The People’s Defense Forces attacked three military vehicles coming from Myeik to reinforce the Pyu Saw Htee group with landmines near Taung Pu Village Bridge on October 25.
The exact number of soldiers killed in the explosion, which destroyed a military vehicle, is still under investigation, said a comrade from Tanintharyi-PDF.
A military vehicle carrying 10 soldiers from the 306th Artillery was ambushed by the revolutionary forces near Chaung Nyi Ko village in Tanintharyi around 11 a.m. on the same day.
The revolutionary forces warned the people to be extra cautious as fighting may intensify in Tanintharyi in the open season.
