Mawlamyine, 26 October
Resistance forces led by Kachin Independence Army (KIA) raided military’s Aungja base in Moemauk township, Kachin state, and it was an initial step in strategic offensives, said U Ye Mon, the Minister of Defence under the National Unity Government.
The allied resistance forces seized the military base, and more than one hundred soldiers were killed in the battle.
U Ye Mon wrote the message of commanding officer on his social media page one day after the raid, “Hello Minister, we are still collecting a large cache of arms and ammunitions enough for a PDF battalion.”
Lieutenant General Khuang Lun, the KIA’s commanding officer, praised the exemplary bravery of PDF members in raiding the military base.
The raid was jointly carried out by AA, CNF, ABSDF, KNA-Burma, K-PDF and PDF members.
