More than 30 regime forces were killed in clashes between the two sides in October in KNU Brigade 5, Hpapun District, reported Brigade 5.

In October, 87 clashes have been reported between the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the joint force of the junta army and Border Guard Force in the KNU-controlled Brigade 5 area.

Four KNLA comrades lost their lives and six others were injured in the battle, which claimed the lives of 31 junta troops and injured 51 others.

The junta aircraft carried out two strikes and dropped more than 500-pound cluster bombs in October. Besides, a helicopter gunship strafed the KNU territory, according to the statement.

According to the 5th Brigade, the army fired 20 rounds of 120-mm and 60-mm artillery, injuring one villager.

According to the KNU, the junta’s attacks and human rights violations have displaced over 91,000 people who are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance.
