Laukkaing, 16 November
All the soldiers and their family members from Light Infantry Battalion 129 under Regional Operations Command (Laukkai) from Rang Khom village, Manlaw village group, Shisham region, Kokang special zone (1), and their families surrendered to the MNDAA, according to the Three Brotherhood Alliance on 14 November.
A total of 262 family members, including junta officers and soldiers led by the battalion commander of the Military Council No. (129) Light Infantry Battalion, Major Kyaw Ye Aung, defected on the night of 12 November, contacting the Kokang group, MNDAA.
The defected battalion consisted of 126 junta soldiers and 134 family members led by Major Kyaw Ye Aung, will always be recorded and honored as a brave hero by Myanmar people, according to the Three Brotherhood Alliance.
“In history, it was only during the era of the Burma Communist Party. It was arm-struggle. Now, the entire regiment has surrendered. It’s not the same. It’s the first time” Ko Pyae Phyo Kyaw, Information Officer of ABSDF Column 3 told Than Lwin Times.
ပြည်သူနဲ့ပူးပေါင်းခဲ့သူတွေကို ညီနောင်မဟာမိတ်သုံးဖွဲ့က တစ်ဦးချင်းအတွက် ကျပ်ငွေ ၁၀ သိန်းအပြင် တပ်မိသားစုဝင်တွေအတွက်လည်း တစ်ဦးကို ၁ သိန်းပေးအပ်ခဲ့ပြီး ကျန်းမာရေး ချို့ယွင်းသူတွေကို အခမဲ့ ကျန်းမာရေးဝန်ဆောင်မှု ပေးထားတယ်လို့ သိရပါတယ်။
The Three Brotherhood Alliance awarded 1,000,000 kyat to each soldier, and 100,000 kyat for each family members. Free health care were provided to those with health problems.
There are more than 200 military soldiers and police joined the revolution forces now after Three Brotherhood Alliance made an announcement to surrender and cooperate with the people.
It was the first time the entire battalion to surrender after the military coup.
