Myeik, 17 November

The Myeik PDF urges the public to exercise caution as they will ramp up the attacks on regime camps in Myeik District, Tanintharyi Region.

The revolutionary forces are preparing for combat readiness in Myeik, Tanintharyi, and Kyunsu townships in Myeik District, while the military council is also preparing for defense.

A PDF official in Myeik Township told Than Lwin Times that they are currently launching attacks on some regime camps and later trying to capture the town.

As a result, people are advised not to approach military bases and to keep up with military news.

The military council has deployed forces and tightened security in Kyunsu and Myeik Township since the first week of November due to the revolutionary forces’ operations.

On November 15, at least five soldiers were killed in a landmine explosion near Hmwe Shuang village in Myeik Township.

According to Myeik reports, the junta army has prepared for defense in Myeik, Tanintharyi’s commercial hub, due to the nationwide fighting, and their bases and outposts have also been alerted.

On February 2, the military council declared martial law in the resistance strongholds of Palaw and Taninthari in Myeik District.
