Shwegyin, 18 November
An alliance of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the Burmese People’s Liberation Army (BPLA) has captured a mountain-based camp of the 351th Light Infantry Battalion, near Kyakhaung Village, under the Southern Military Command.
The junta forces relinquished the camp and ran away before it was captured on 17 November morning.
An exchange of fire took place for about 20 minutes during the battle; the exact number of junta’s casualties has not been confirmed yet, according to the statement.
The revolutionary forces confiscated 1-60 mm gun, 52 – 60 mm grenades,1 Jammer,1 large walkie–talkie, 13 Inaga bombs, 20 grenades, 22 RPGs, 16 RPG shells, 3 destroyers, 12 bombs of 40 mm, 9 landmines and more than one thousand 5.56 mm ammunition from the junta troops who fled the camp.
The BPLA informed that they are fighting together with their allies; the No.107 Southern Military Command and the No. 203 Northern Military Command in order to root out the military dictatorship.
