Kyaikto, 29 November

An office staff was injured in the attack on Land Records Office in North Ward in Mon Sate’s Kyaikto township around 10 a.m. on 28 November, locals confirmed to Than Lwin Times.

The joint forces of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the People’s Defense Force (PDF) fired 40-mm mortar shells at the office where junta soldiers were positioned.

The explosion occurred in the office compound and injured one of the staff.

The staff who was injured by shrapnel was taken to Kyaikto Public Hospital by a social rescue team.

Ko Aye Min Tun, the spokesperson of the Thaton-PDF, said that the attack targeted the soldiers stationed at the Land Records Office.

The junta soldiers have been deployed at the Kyaikto Land Records Office since last month, though the exact number of troops is unknown.

Since November, the military situation between the junta army and the revolutionary forces has remained intense in Kyaikto Township, Mon State, with the military council desperately preparing for defense.
