KUN-Thathong District warns junta staff to cooperate with people as soon as possible

The KNU-Thaton District issued a warning on December 10 asking the soldiers and junta staff in KNU Brigade 1 of Thaton District to desert the military council and join the people as soon as possible.

The KNU has issued a statement on the revolutionary stance of KNU-Thaton District, including the current political situation and the affairs of the people and military personnel.

According to the announcement, the military and civil service staff of the military council were to formally join the KNU and leave the military council to join the people.

In addition, the KNU has urged them to oppose any order targeting the people and will accept soldiers and civil servants who will cooperate with the people in accordance with the terms and conditions set by the KNU, according to the statement.

Since the first week of December, the KNU-Thaton District has intensified its attacks on military bases in tandem with the revolutionary forces’ balanced operations.

 The KNU-Thaton District is a brigade of the KNU, which is made up of four townships, including Kyaikto, Belin, and Thaton Townships in Mon State and Hpa-an in Karen State.

The KNU Brigade 1 is fighting for the overthrow of the military dictatorship in cooperation with the 26 local and people’s defense forces that emerged as a result of the coup.
