A child was killed and seven civilians were wounded in junta air raid in Mone Township of KNU-held Nyaunglaybin District, reported the KNU on 15 December.

The military regime’s helicopter gunship strafed Nae Na Meik village in Mone Township around 9 a.m. on 13 December, injuring four people, including two children, and destroying two houses, said the statement.

Meanwhile, junta aircraft fired 12 rockets into Wae Gyi village, killing one and a half year old child and seriously injuring three residents, destroying five houses, and killing some livestock.

In addition, on December 13, one civilian was killed, three were injured, six homes were damaged, and one cow was wounded due to artillery fire by the junta army in Kyaukkyi Township, said the statement.

The regime troops reportedly fired nearly 50 mortar shells into villages and workplaces and carried out two airstrikes targeting civilians in Kyaukkyi from December 7 to 13.

Frequent fighting erupted between junta army and KNLA joint forces in KNU Brigade 3 of Nyaunlaybin District, and the depleted junta army launched targeted attacks on civilians, forcing thousands of local residents.
