Karenni joint forces have controlled military’s major camp in Mese township, near Thai border, in Kayah state, on 23 June morning.
The strategic hill of the military in eastern part of Mese was conquered, according to Karenni Military Information Center (KMIC).
Home Affairs Minister of Karenni National Progressive Party, Nyay Yaal, said, “These camps are located on border crossing. Hill points No. 13 and 14 are the strategic places for military operations. These camps were managed by military officers to control the border town.”
The military used four jet fighters in carrying airstrikes there after the Karenni forces controlled the strategic hill.
The joint resistance forces have captureed the military’s camps in Taung Hla, Mae Tanwe, BP-14 and Mese since 13 June.
The military has six outpost, including police station, near Kayah-Thai border, and the revolutionary forces have controlled five of them. Than Lwin Times has not independently verified the capture of the remaining one BP-13 camp.
Sources from joint forces said to Than Lwin Times that the clashes are expected to intensify as the military is enforcing their troops to recapture their camps.
