Dawei, 16 November
Four farm workers were arrested in a crossfire near the Eain Shae Pyin checkpoint at the entrance of Dawei in Tanintharyi Region, locals told Than Lwin Times.
On November 10, around 10 a.m., the revolutionary forces launched an attack on regime forces and traffic police who were checking the passengers.
The assault sparked a 10-minute gunfight in which the junta sustained significant casualties.
According to local residents, three soldiers were killed in the crossfire, but Than Lwin Times has not been able to independently confirm the report.
After the shooting, the junta army arrested two men and two women who were working in the field near the Eain Shae Pyin checkpoint for questioning.
Although family members have been looking into the inmates’ whereabouts, nothing is known at this time.
According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), 1760 locals have been arrested by the junta army for various reasons in Tanintharyi Region since the coup.
