The Mon State Revolutionary Organization (MSRO) reported that it launched a grenade attack on the 587th Light Infantry Battalion stationed at Aryutaung village in Mon State’s Ye Township on February 14.
At around 6:30 am yesterday, the Mon State Revolutionary Organization (MSRO) attacked the LIB 587 and its outpost with a 40-mm grenade launcher.
The grenade thrown by the resistance force landed on the outpost of junta troops and exploded, and the casualties are being investigated, a member of MSRO said.
The MSRO stated that they retreated following an attack on the junta battalion and outpost, and said that they would exterminate regime members and their subordinates.
In January of last year, an artillery shell struck the LIB 587, killing two junta soldiers and injuring six others.
Following the declaration of martial law in Ye Township, Mon State, two junta battalions were attacked, some military council members were killed, and some buildings were damaged.
