Tanintharyi, 17 April
A soldier defected to people’s defence force in Tanintharyi city together with his gun to
join civil disobedient movement this last week.
Private Aung Moe Naing from the military troops based in Nyaungbin Kwin village also
handed over his MA 3 automatic gun, one grenade, 200 bullets and his equipment.
The Tanintharyi Military Command of resistance force will present him cash award at
least K 3 million, and will help him to implement his plan.
Over 10 soldiers have defected to the local PDF in Tanintharyi since the military coup,
and most of them have joined resistance forces in fighting against the junta troop.
The National Unity Government has recorded nearly 10,000 soldiers have joined civil
disobedient movement in the past two years after coup.
